Steady does it....

An early start for this match meant we were a bit slow to start and the first quarter was very level with the Dragonfly's only breaking the Panther's centre pass twice to take a 3 goal lead at the end of the first quarter, score 9 - 6 to Dragonflys.

The team stayed in the same positions for the 2nd quarter and after a quick drink and instructions went back out on court with more energy and determination. This was seen from the beginning of this quarter with the circle defense (Katie & Elizabeth) really putting the pressure on and only allowing 2 goals to be scored by Panthers in this quarter. The mid court players (Abigail, Charlotte & Katie) worked hard to turn over the Panthers centre's and safely deliver the ball to our shooters (Mollie & Caitlin) who although did not score every time fought hard for the rebound and converted more then they lost by working together and supporting each other. The score for this quarter was 9 - 2 to the Dragonflys meaning at half-time they had stretched their lead by 10 goals to 18 -8.

At half-time after checking that the close kit colours were not effecting the players there was only one change in positions with Mollie going into GS & Caitlin having a run about in GA. Everyone carried on their hardwork from the 2nd quarter and with a few tactical changes from the opposition in their shooting circle we managed to stretch the lead again with a 3rd quarter score of 9 - 5 to the Dragonfly's meaning that going into the final quarter the score was 27 - 13 to us.

The 4th quarter saw tiredness start to creep in with only 7 players to use and Panthers once again swamped some of their players to put fresh legs on to try and take advantage of this. This quarter all the players dug deep and although there were not many turnovers in this quarter we were able to safely deliver our centre passes to the shooters who kindly obliged by successfully scoring. This quarter was a lot closer with the score being 11 - 10 to the dragonfly's but after all the hardwork in the earlier parts of the match it meant as the final whistle was blown the squad of 7 managed to secure the win with a score of 38 - 23.

Well done to all the players and keep up the hardwork.
